Two Arrests for Robbery |
||
|
On Thursday 30 April 2026 at approximately 09:50hrs, a male approached two members of public on Bellevue Road, Wandsworth, attempting to steal a necklace and a handbag before making off. A male shortly after then approached another member of public on Broomwood Road where he stole a gold chain before fleeing with a second male in a vehicle towards Tooting Bec.
Within minutes police located the suspects’ vehicle on Trinity Road and indicated for the vehicle to stop. The vehicle failed to stop but was brought to a stop soon after in Church Lane, Tooting where two suspects attempted to flee on foot but were detained and arrested on suspicion of robbery. The car was found to be displaying false plates.
A 19 year old male and a 26 old male have now been charged and remanded in custody to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court.
This was an excellent piece of work by officers involved, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and commitment to protecting the community. We will continue to focus on crime hotspots and pursue those who cause the most harm in our neighbourhoods.
